Noções e rotina de braquiterapia intracavitária no tratamento do câncer de colo uterino

Abstract

Objetivo: Desenvolver material didático e tutorial sobre Noções de Braquiterapia Intracavitária no Tratamento do Câncer de Colo Uterino para uso, no ensino, da Especialização de Técnicos em Radioterapia. Material e Métodos: De janeiro de 2015 a novembro de 2016, foram colhidas informações sobre o tema e seus aspectos históricos, epidemiológicos, técnicos, além de indicações, contraindicações e rotina aplicada no Instituto Nacional de Câncer (INCA). Foi realizada busca no Pubmed, biblioteca do INCA, livros e experiência do serviço, obtendo-se 30 artigos para a elaboração deste material didático. Resultados: Com os resultados desta pesquisa, foi elaborado um tutorial ilustrativo contendo orientações sobre indicações de Braquiterapia Intracavitária de Colo Uterino, admissão das pacientes, exames clínicos e laboratoriais necessários e descrição do procedimento, abordando o papel dos diferentes profissionais envolvidos. Conclusão: A Braquiterapia Intracavitária de Colo Uterino é um procedimento amplamente utilizado na instituição, tendo em vista sua importância no tratamento dos tumores deste sítio, tão incidentes no Brasil. Seu uso baseia-se na extensa literatura médica que aborda o assunto, trazendo benefícios no que tange às taxas de Sobrevida (SV), mesmo com o surgimento de novas tecnologias no âmbito da radioterapia. A paciente chega ao serviço pelo ambulatório, onde se realiza consulta médica e explanação do procedimento. A partir desse momento, agenda-se o procedimento propriamente dito, que é realizado da melhor maneira possível, envolvendo diferentes profissionais.

Objective: To develop didactic material and tutorial about Notions of Intracavitary Brachytherapy in the Treatment of Cervical Cancer for the use, in teaching, of the Specialization of Technicians in Radiotherapy. Material and Methods: From January 2015 to November 2016, information was collected about the subject and its historical, epidemiological and technical aspects, as well as indications, contraindications and routine applied at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). We searched the Pubmed, NCI library, books and service experience, obtaining 30 articles for the preparation of this didactic material. Results: With the results of this research, an illustrative tutorial was elaborated, containing guidelines on indications for Intracavitary Uterine Cervical Brachytherapy, admission of patients, clinical and laboratory tests required and description of the procedure, addressing the role of the different professionals involved. Conclusion: Intracavitary Cervical Brachytherapy is a procedure widely used in the institution, considering its importance in the treatment of tumors of this site, so incidental in Brazil. Its use is based on the extensive medical literature that deals with the subject, bringing benefits in terms of survival rates (SV), even with the emergence of new technologies in the field of radiotherapy. The patient arrives at the service by the ambulatory, where medical consultation and explanation of the procedure is performed. From that moment, the procedure itself is scheduled, which is performed in the best possible way, involving different professionals.
