Sobreviventes ao câncer de mama: Necessidades inerentes à sexualidade na perspectiva de mulheres mastectomizadas e de cônjuges

Abstract

O câncer de mama envolve desestruturação e alterações significativas nas diversas esferas da vida da mulher que experimenta o seu diagnóstico e seu tratamento. Além dos efeitos físicos, o câncer de mama pode comprometer em vários graus a autoestima, a imagem corporal e a identidade das mulheres. Desta forma, o objetivo deste estudo é identificar e compreender as necessidades relativas à sexualidade das mulheres mastectomizadas sobreviventes ao câncer de mama, com vistas ao subsídio de políticas públicas voltadas para a população que compõe este grupo social. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, tendo como referencial metodológico a hermenêutica dialética e como referencial teórico de análise a História da Sexualidade de Foucault. Como técnica de produção de dados elegeu-se a entrevista semiestruturada. Do material empírico emergiram três abrangentes categorias: Socioculturalidade e sexualidade de sobreviventes ao câncer de mama; Dimensão psicoemocional e sexualidade de sobreviventes ao câncer de mama; e Dimensão físico clínica e sexualidade de sobreviventes ao câncer de mama. As categorias empíricas foram subdivididas em onze subcategorias, caracterizando as unidades hermenêuticas. As necessidades instauradas pela doença e seu tratamento expõem a relevância de se investir em estratégias de cuidado que transcendem as dimensões estritamente biológicas.

Breast cancer involves disruption and significant changes in various spheres of life of women experiencing their diagnosis and treatment. Besides the physical effects, breast cancer can engage in various degrees self-esteem, body image and identity of women. Thus, the aim of this study is to identify and understand the needs relating to the sexuality of women mastectomy survivors of breast cancer, with a view to the grant of public policies for the people that make up this social. Treat up group qualitative research, and the methodological framework dialectic and hermeneutics as a theoretical analysis of the history of Sexuality Foucault. As data production technique chose the semi-structured interview. The empirical material emerged three broad categories: Sociocultural and sexuality survivors of breast cancer; psycho-emotional dimension of sexuality and survivors of breast cancer; and clinical physical dimension and sexuality of surviving breast cancer. The empirical categories were subdivided into eleven subcategories, featuring the hermeneutic units. The requirements introduced by the disease and its treatment expose the relevance of investing in care strategies that transcend the strictly biological dimensions.
