dc.description.abstractO artigo aborda as ações de controle do câncer junto à população LGBT, em especial transexuais e travestis, e o papel das campanhas Outubro Rosa e Novembro Azul. Con siste em revisão crítica da literatura, baseada em pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, à luz do método materialista histórico-dialético. Apesar da pouca produção sobre o tema, há evidências de riscos para desenvolvimento de câncer de mama, próstata e tireóide em transexuais e travestis. Diante desse quadro, aponta-se a ampliação do público-alvo das campanhas de controle do câncer para além do outubro rosa e do novembro azul, rumo ao arco-íris, símbolo do movimento LGBT.-

dc.description.abstractenThe article discusses how cancer control actions with an LGBT population, especially transsexuals and transvestites, and the role of campaigns. It consists of a critical review of the literature, research in bibliographical and documentary research, the light mate rialist historical-dialectical method. Despite the low production on the subject, there is evidence of risks for the development of breast, prostate and thyroid cancer in transsexu als and transvestites. In view of this, there is an increase in the target audience for cancer control campaigns beyond October and the blue November, the rainbow, the symbol of the LGBT movement.-
