Desvelando o lugar de acompanhante do paciente em um Centro de Transplante de Medula Óssea

Abstract

Nas instituições de saúde, geralmente a atuação da prática profissional está voltada para o sujeito que apresenta a doença orgânica propriamente dita, cabendo aos acompanhantes de pacientes uma localização de menos destaque no âmbito de intervenção. Ainda que os acompanhantes desempenhem um papel fundamental no conforto ao paciente e auxílio nos cuidados diários, eles comumente ficam à margem, dificilmente recebendo assistência e suporte específicos. Dentro deste contexto, o presente trabalho buscou analisar os efeitos de acompanhar um paciente submetido ao transplante no Centro de Transplante de Medula Óssea do INCA (CEMO/ INCA), investigando quais repercussões que isto promove na vida de quem ocupa este lugar – considerando as diversas variáveis envolvidas, como a complexidade do procedimento, o aparato biotecnológico e a gravidade das doenças tratadas. Constitui-se de uma pesquisa realizada no período de residência multiprofissional em oncologia e física médica, onde foi realizado o estudo de caso pautado pela teoria psicanalítica. A partir da escuta a esses sujeitos, foram analisados fragmentos clínicos em que observou-se o impacto ocasionado por tal experiência naqueles que se dispõem a acompanhar o paciente nessa trajetória.

In health institutions, the professional practice is usually directed towards the sick patient, and the patients' companions are left out of the scope for medical intervention. Although the companions play a fundamental role in the patient’s comfort and daily care, they are often forgotten, and hardly receive specific assistance and support. In this context, the present study sought to analyze the effects of accompanying a patient who is undergoing a transplant at the INCA Bone Marrow Transplantation Center (INCA/CEMO). The study investigates the repercussions that this place promotes in the lives of those who occupy it. The present study is a research carried out in the period of multi-professional residency in oncology and medical physics, analyzing the study of eight cases whose participants were the companions of patients of the bone marrow transplant of the mentioned institution. From listening to these subjects, clinical fragments based on psychoanalytic theory were analyzed, in which the impact caused by such experience was observed in those who are willing to accompany the patient in this trajectory.
